HANDLING EMPLOYEE MISCONDUCT AND CONDUCTING DOMESTIC INQUIRY

Course Introduction

This course equips Managers, Supervisors, and HR/IR personnel with essential knowledge and skills to handle employee misconduct effectively and conduct fair domestic inquiries in line with labour laws. Participants will learn legal, HR, and disciplinary aspects to ensure decisions are fair, just, and defensible.

Day 1:

  1. Misconduct types (major/minor, workplace/off-duty, sexual harassment, criminal).
  2. Laws governing misconduct & domestic inquiry.
  3. Investigation: roles, evidence, show cause notice, reporting.
  4. Framing charges, suspension procedures.
  5. Appointment & roles of inquiry personnel (panel, prosecutor, secretary, witnesses).

 

Day 2:

  1. Domestic inquiry process (steps, rights, evidence, witness Q&A, reporting).
  2. Role play: case scenarios, charge sheet, Q&A, findings report.
  3. Decision & punishment (types, management decision, appeal procedures).
